Fleetwood Mac: after its 926 weeks on the chart, who’s still buying Rumours?

Fleetwood Mac: after its 926 weeks on the chart, who’s still buying Rumours?

Editor Katie Watkins 10-2-2022

Fleetwood Mac released Rumours forty-five years ago this month, an album that combined some what gauzy soft pop, manicured folk and stormy rock with a soap-operatic level of intra-band strife.

Rumours won album of the year at the U.S. Grammys,  achieved 20 times platinum status in the US alone.

What’s truly remarkable about this album is the album longevity , and how it continues to sell  thousands of new physical copies each year, despite being available to stream.

According to the UK’s Official Charts Company, Rumours sold over 34,593 vinyl copies in 2021, third only to new albums by Adele and Abba, and beating  new release by such artist as Ed Sheeran and Lana Del Rey.

Rumours also sold over 32,508 copies the previous year and  is currently sitting at No 29 in its 926th week on the UK  Official album chart, which is now up five places from the previous week.

While stateside  Rumours sold over 6,000 vinyl copies in the last week of January 2022 hitting the No 1  spot on the vinyl albums chart.

It sold over 169,000 vinyl copies in the US year ending 2021 (according to MRC Data).

The album is so beautifully written and produced it's clear why the album is still as popular now with a new generation fans as was forty five years ago.

The albums is available to download from all online streaming site and all major Records shop

Matt Goss Beautiful Unknown London Show Fails To Sell Out

Matt Goss Beautiful Unknown London Show Fails To Sell Out Editor Katie Watkin's 24/4/22 Matt Goss once again failed to generate any interest from fans for his one show London Palladium performance. Matt announced on social media, that he would be performing at the London Palladium on the 23rd of April. Ticket sales have been so low the singer had to reduce ticket prices in the attempt to fill the 2000 space capacity theater, with online giant Ticketmaster emailing fans and providing notifications about new seat allocation nearer to the stage.  This practice is normally done when a venue struggles to sell tickets. With Matt so desperate to try and fill the Palladium, he begged fans to buy up to 6 tickets each and gift them to family members and strangers.  His management team also took to social media begging fans to buy, with one fan Dee Murphy posting buy tickets it's less than a pedicure. Tickets last week continued to struggle with some fans once again purchasing multiple

MATT GOSS MANAGERS MICHAEL LICATA AND ROB FERGUSON POSTED PATHEIC APOLOGY TO A FAN WHO THEY BOTH VICOUSLY ATTACKED ON SOCIAL MEDIA.

MATT GOSS MANAGERS MICHAEL LICATA  AND ROB FERGUSON POSTED   PATHEIC APOLOGY TO A FAN WHO THEY BOTH VICOUSLY ATTACKED ON SOCIAL MEDIA. Editor Katie Watkins 11-11-2021 Rob Ferguson and Michael Licata who both manage 80's Pop icon and Bros frontman Matt Goss have both been forced to give an apology for the disgusting abusive and vile behavior. The action of Michael Licata and Rob Ferguson (Lit Management / Transcend Music) both asked members of several Facebook groups to share their vile posts, which escalated to a vicious assault on a male fan reputation and threats to his life. The attacks were so bad the male fan had received threats from hundreds of fans in which numerous fans were investigated by the police. The male fan graciously accepted the pathetic apology, which when read was more about Rob and Michael than a sincere apology.  The fan told us that the online trolling and the horrendous behavior by some middle-aged woman who posted vile comments on Facebook were shocking. Luke Goss on his time to shine.

Luke Goss on his time to shine. Editor Katie Watkin's 4 /2/ 22 Starting his career alongside his brother Matt, Luke Goss was the beloved drummer from 80's Global sensation Bros. Even though Matt was the singer, Luke had thousands of adoring fans who would follow him everywhere. After the split of Bros in 1992 , Luke created his rock group named Luke Goss and the Band of Thieves. They had some chart success with such singles as Sweeter Than The Midnight Rain and, Give Me One More Chance. Luke, now is the most successful of the Goss brothers, and has built up an incredible acting career.  Just lately it seems Luke somewhat fallen back in love with music and started writing songs  including his most recent release "Free." The single has shown that Luke is on par with his brother when it comes to singing, with his Instagram videos delighting his fans and followers.
