Matt Goss Beautiful Unknown London Show Fails To Sell Out

Matt Goss once again failed to generate any interest from fans for his one show London Palladium performance.
Matt announced on social media, that he would be performing at the London Palladium on the 23rd of April.
Ticket sales have been so low the singer had to reduce ticket prices in the attempt to fill the 2000 space capacity theater, with online giant Ticketmaster emailing fans and providing notifications about new seat allocation nearer to the stage.
This practice is normally done when a venue struggles to sell tickets.
With Matt so desperate to try and fill the Palladium, he begged fans to buy up to 6 tickets each and gift them to family members and strangers.
His management team also took to social media begging fans to buy, with one fan Dee Murphy posting buy tickets it's less than a pedicure.
Tickets last week continued to struggle with some fans once again purchasing multiple tickets and being unable to resell them on any resale site's
In one last attempt, Matt's management agreed to reduce the prices of tickets to just ten pounds even this failed to draw in the numbers to fill the Palladium.
A source from LW Theatres had confirmed that tickets for the show had been low. With tickets still being available for purchase right up to the start of the evening performance.

Matt Goss it seems was so desperate to sell tickets and get bums on sits that he asked three support acts to join him, hoping they could pull in the punters.
The trio of support acts included ex-wife of brother Luke Goss, Shirly Lewis (ex backing singer for George Michael), whose only pop commercial success were two hits in 1988/89, charting at number 84 and 64, and spending five weeks in the chart in total.
Former S Club 7 member Jo O'Meara whose solo career since parting from S Club 7, has had slightly better commercial success than Matt's.
Jo's Single "What Hurts The Most" made the Top 20 and stayed on the chart for 6 weeks with her album " Relentless charting at number 48 on the UK official Chart in 2005 where it stayed for 2 weeks and, to date has sold over 14,000 copies.
Jo is also on the comeback trail with her new single "Creep" which is a cover of the iconic "Radiohead" classic.
Unfortunately this time around, her single failed to have any commercial success with the single charting at number 87 on Itunes and stayed for just 3 days, selling just 400 copies.
In fairness to Jo, I think she has done a tremendous job in covering the single she still has a great voice, Jo's downfall is that her new manager ( Rob Ferguson Transcend Music) can't deliver the promotion she needs.
I believe if Jo O'Meara found a more competent manager like Craig Logan (former ex basses for Bros), her single may have had more commercial impact.
Jo on the other hand is more likely to have more commercial success if she got all members of S Club 7 back together and did some 90's nostalgic Festivals.
However, Jo's version of "Creep" is good, but it's whether she can appeal to her existing fan base and obtain a new younger generation of fans.
Then, finally the third support act, we have newcomer Madoox Jones, and after doing some research, I found that some of his music is pretty dam good and if he found a good promoter, a record label may just sign him.
But even with the three support acts joining matt, ticket sales still didn't improve. Just hours before the show started, his team also issued the free tickets to 80's singer Boy George reality star Gemma Collins, Shirley Lewis's family, and friends.
With free tickets being handed out to London party-goers in a last attempt to fill the remaining seats but without success.
Fans who attended the show were asked to move nearer the front of the tiers and stage so that the empty back seats were not visible.
Matt also received a backlash over the extortionate price of the meet & greet, which cost £137.00 plus the additional cost of buying the seat ticket, with fans calling the price just pure financial greed.
Loyal and devoted fans took to social media to highlight their discussion, stating, that when Matt wanted us to buy his album, he did a free meet and greet but now that his album has not sold well, he exploiting us with over the top prices for meet and greet.
We email Transend Music for their response they have failed to contact us.

ReplyDeleteWent to the show and was left a bit disappointed. First of all the meet and greet was definitly not worth the price. It was basically an in and out to take a picture that was not even that good. Not a lot of time to chat or anything. It really felt like they were not really giving a crap about ordinary fans, you know us the ones who are nobodies to Matt. Show was ok, but you get why it was not sold out. Top tier was almost empty and it was basically watching Matt jump around the stage. I was curious about his music so I went but I feel like the ones who would really like the show are only die hard Brosettes from the days who would basically believe it if Matt said he just managed to find a cure for cancer...aka girls who only need him to show up to say the show was great...which it wasn't and you then understand why he can't ever sell out a venue.

ReplyDeleteWent to the show because I live near by and got the ticket for £10. Once again poor production, poor sound and it was as bad as the Matt Goss Hilton show's a couple of years ago. The saving grace of this show was meeting Boy George and watching Jo O'meara Perform.
ReplyDeleteMatt was so my idol back in the day. To see how he treats his fans and how it's all about money and greed make me sad. Since he been under the managment of Rob , Matt's changed, he no longer liked by many fans, he has no true family and yet he still fails to understand that he needs luke more than ever. So matt if you read this get rid of Rob and make amends with Luke. We all make mistakes don't let other ruin your life. Please all fans know Rob know good for you ot Michael, they are just exploiting you.

So far our emails have been ignored. Remember this Matt you need us more than we need you. So please don't shit on your fans as we will bite back.
ReplyDeleteSo I got the ticket for £10 and honestly I would not have paid more for it. I feel bad for the fans who paid full price, its borderline insulting to them. You ask them to pay the full price then because the show is far from sold out you get desperate and almost give them out for free. And the show was worth £10 to be honest. Terrible sound and by bits I was honestly not even sure what I was looking and listening at. Had no clue who the opening number was, had to google it. But she was way more put together than Matt. Overall, in my opinion the guy pretty much took advantage of his fans and insulted them when he realized he did not have enough of fans to fill the stadium.
ReplyDeleteI got my ticket for free, myself and my boyfriend were offered free tickets, never really heard of Matt Goss but did know about Jo O; Meara from her S - Club - 7 days.
ReplyDeleteThe theatre was not full but enjoyed watching Jo. The main act, I wouldn't rate him, the song he sang was not any good, didn't know any of them but the concert was free so can't complain.
One of the reason the show was not a sell-out is that the arrangements always last minute and Matt has no longer got the fan's anymore. Fan's detest his manager Rob because of is deadful attitude. I met Rob in belfast and why people were being given free tickets, he told me is was none of my business. Matt needs to consider getting a new independant manager who will treat fans with respect.
ReplyDeleteNone of Matt's show have ever sold out I went to the SSE and the top teir and the back of Arena were curtain off , when we spoke to staff they said their were only around 5000 people there in arena that hold around 11,000 so that speaks volumes.

ReplyDeleteFan's didn't go to the Pryzm event even though if you bought the album the etrance was free. I attended with my friend and the show was dreadful, music sounded very tinnie.

The palladium show where do I start, ripped of with tickets prices, Meet and Greet once again rushed through and finally the actual show was a croc of shit. I've been a MG fan since them, start but his managment and him all about money fuck us fans, we don't matter anymore. We all just a cash cow for their greed and egos.

ReplyDeleteMatt didn't sell -out any of his two album show's and only one of his record signing event's. I went to Crash records in leeds and we spoke to staff and were told around 100 people turned up for this event.

ReplyDeleteGot tickets 2 for £10 each for the show, while other fans had paid betweens £84.50 -£62.20 . I know alot fans felt ripped off as they bought their tickets on pre release and have since tried to obtain partial refunds. The venue had loads of empty seats at the front and back of all 3 tiers and we were asked if would like to move nearer the front to fill those empty seats, so for us that was great news as we had paid so little for our tickets. The support acts were not my cup of tea and Matt perfomance overall was not his best but his singning was not bad. I don't think I would of paid full price for tickets as the overall experience was unsatisfying. Matt is no longer a global superstar as in the days of Bros and for me and friend who long standing supporters of Matt and Bros, we felt he was now a mediocre cabaret act. His overall presents was of tired vegas act trying his best to resurrect his fame of past years.
ReplyDeleteThis is article is so precise, and I feel gives a true insight into the singer. As fan of Mr Goss and since the Bros inception back 1987. Us fans over the years feel disgruntled about how we are treated by Matt. He speaks of kindness but this is just his fake persona in his attempt to pursued us into buying his merchandise. His attitude towards a fans including Justine back in 2020 when they talked about their excitement of purchasing the Bros Gold release was somewhat childish. Matt cut this lady dead and sad " this release is nothing to do with me " What he really meant, he was making no money from the sale of the album but he doesn't hold any of the copyright's so maybe that's why he sulked. A proffessional artist would of embraced the release not Matt, like a child he sulked. Which is funny as I am now fortunate to work for Crimson Music and the Bros Gold album sold better than his album in fact its sold over 15,000 copies while Matt release sold around 8000 copies. Despite the usual hanger's on and those few fans who will do everything Matt says , 70% of us feel that Matt and his management treat us like we are a cash cow's. If we speak our mind's we get called unloyal by certain fans and some MGA admin's not all but some.
ReplyDeleteMatt does not appeal to a new generation of music goers his music sounds very dated and not even appealing to us, his loyal fanbase at the moment. What I saw of the show it was nothing new or exciting so I can understand why fans didnt go. The die hard fans loved it and lapped it but to honest Matt could ask the two hundred loyal fans to jump of a bridge in to a pool of sharks and they would do it. For me it was usual a last minute, poor production show.
I stopped following Matt after his managers abused that guy on Facebook and so did many others. Matt preaches kindness but what i've seen from those who represent him are evil people. Until Matt looks at those who he works with and changes that, fans won't bother to support him.

ReplyDeleteThe palladium show was a complete let down and waste of nearly £250.00. I paid for front seat tickets, Meet &Greet which supposed to have included a picture with Matt. You were also meant to get free copy of his album (not that I wanted that as I bought a copy already) and a T-shirt. The album I didn.t get, the tshirt I was asked to pay another £30.00 pound for some I could buy of ebay for £5 and the picture was dreadful. I know loads of fans complained about the pictures and they didn't get what they paid for.

ReplyDeleteA has been artist who thrives on past glory. With no record label willing to work or invest in him, clearly show's he a laughing stock and his music not commericially viable. Clearly somewhat deluded in his acheivements as solo artist say's it all. 5 studio albums and all commerical flops . Total sales worldwide as a solo artist 40,000, none of his solo music charted in Australia or New Zealand and to put into context the Childrens entertainers The Wiggles have sold more album's than Matt Goss.
ReplyDeleteI honestly did not even bother to purchase a ticket for the Palladium. I used to be a fan, and went to see him at Hilton but I was then disappointed. Tickets were a bit expensive then but again we had a meal included with that. At £150 it was almost the same price as his meet and greet and we had a meal included. But I was disappointed with the show which seemed to be put together last minute. I also went to Pryzm since it wasn't too expensive but the venue was like half full and the show was terrible. So then of course after 2 disappointements I did not go to the Palladium. I feel like he needs to change either management or his way of doing things because lately he has not been great and came off as a bit of a fake person, not even taking responsabilities for his management actions. I was not too aware of it but now I'm really disgusted by how it was all handled.
ReplyDeleteI loved Matt but over the years he started to repulse me. His fake personality has drove fans away. When I went to album signing in Leeds I spoke to some fans who said they had only gone to see him because the meet and greet was free and they were unimpressed with his album. Some fans afterwards said his management were rude and were only interested in trying to get them to purchase more than one copy of his album.

Rob and Michael don't care about Matt's credibility they use him like everyone else as source of income. Matt cannot write song's he never could and i wish someone had balls to tell him. Matt Goss has lost his way with us fan's, we know he buys followers on both instagram and Facebook as this was leaked a few months back from someone really close to Matt. The fact he doesn't sell out shows is the fact he not liked that much in the UK and he is unknown around the world. Vegas he known only as small music act.
ReplyDeleteThe palladium show I've seen better, just recently I watched a George Michael tribute act (fastlove) and the place was SOLD OUT with all his other shows also being nearly sold out. That's embarrassing when a tribute act sells out more shows than an original artist.

ReplyDeleteMatt recent show in london was panned by his fans including myself. I paid £137.50 for Meet and Greets and £24.50 for show. We were mislead by Matts managers who promised us access to pre-show rehearsal if we biught the M&G. This didn't happen. The show itself was worse than hilton show but at least we got a meal in with the price. I will never go to a Matt Goss show again.
ReplyDeleteThe show the other week didn't sell out, I work for LW Theatres, we were asked not to advertise for sale the seating for Grand Circle, Tickets sales for the Stalls and Royal Circle were struggling to sell out. Matt Goss's Managment kept asking us to remove seating allocation from other areas of the threatre until the centre Stall seating had sold out. The show sold around 800 tickets with all other seat allocation being put on seat filler site. I can confirm this show didn't sell out
ReplyDeleteI loved Matt back in the day and was gonna travel to the UK for the show, until I saw the price or Meet and Greet. I have know idea why he thinks he can charge that amount. His new album never charted in our country and what I heard of the album I don't think I would of bought it. Matt is now passed his prime and his attitiude towards fans is unsettling at times.

I can understand why this show didn't sellout. His vegas shows didn't sellout. I been vegas 5 times and always booked to see Matt and every time I went the venue was always half empty. His new album didn't attract a new audiences.
ReplyDeleteMatt Goss has clearly got some sort of mental health issue, the way he portraits himself. Matt claim's to be global supertar but infact in reality, he a by gone pop star. No success globally, no one really buying his music and detested by so many. He needs attention to feed his need to be liked and loved. At 53 still no one want him and the only person who did love him was his mum. Karma is great and I feel Matt getting his now for how he treated people in past.

I went to his signing and the conventry show and it's sad to say it was dreadful but it was free. When the london show came up me and friends decided not to go as it was to overpriced for an artist of stature (which is sad to say nothing more than pub cabaret act).
ReplyDeleteWhen he claims he is up their with Ed Sheeran and the Weeknd he really lost the plot as yes he can sing but he can't write music, and those people who say he can really need get set of balls and stand up to him. When he wrote Garden of Forgiveness, most fans were embarrassed to how shite the song was and I don't think anyone bought. The same with the NHS song a cover version so bad that it lasted 5 hours before falling of the Itunes and Amazcon charts.selling what 100 copies. I feeL for Matt as he surrounded by users like Rob, sid and Michael and those minority of fans who will buy anything just because it's Matt even if the songs bad like, Tony, David as their big collectors of Matt and bros. But the obsessed nut job's Like Sam, Dee, Elizabeth, Lorna, Kath Vicky and so on. Really his music of late is dreadful and maybe he needs to get back working Nicky Graham to write decent POP song , Oh wait Nicky Graham can't stand Matt, calling deluded, spolit and unproffessional.

I found his lastest boring and his video for Saved is sickening on how he eyes up the young waitress. I think he personally should go back to vegas and stay there.
ReplyDeleteThe palladium show was not sold out, on arrival we were informed that our seating allocation had changed. We were informed that we moved to the front seating. The show it's self was not bad but in my opinion it was no better than a person singing at a wedding or pub venue. The show looked cheaply produced and sounded distorted. As fan"s we used to this as his manager Rob Ferguson can't produce a credible event. Matt never listenen's to his fans and does what he wants and not what we ask for. His new album was over hyped. The songs are lackluster and dull. The only people who defend it are the minority of couple of hundred fans.
ReplyDeleteThe Beautiful Unknown is Matt's worst show and worst album. As a fan I prefer his Key and Gossy album. His lastest release was so over hyped and we had to wait over 8 months as they kept putting it back. The website a joke and I advise other fans never to use the site and when things go wrong they don't refund. STAY CLEAR

Puts up terrible half sold shows (because yes the Palladium was not sold out, top tier was almost empty and we were told to switch seats to come more forward) can't sell more than 10 000 copies of an album like does he enjoys that much to loose money over making crap music and shows? And lets not talk about him splashing 100 000k on his terrible video. Doesn't he gets it at that point? Anyway thanks god I paid £10 for that Palladium show otherwise I would have been pissed.
ReplyDeleteSome of these comments seem very harsh, not saying what's been reported is not factual because it is. Matt 's new album didn't sell well because it's bloody awful and his recent show's were all failures compared to other artist show's. But we need to put this in context, Matt at the moment has no credibilty, that's because he still hated from the days in Bros , when he slagged of other music artist like Rick Astley. Those comments have never gone away. He also brings a lot of hatered on himself by over hyping himself, constantly saying he worked with mulitgrammer song writers like babyface.
ReplyDeleteBabyface has not had hit since 'Return of the Tender Lover' and that flopped on the global market. This constant over hype make him sound deluded and somewhat of a complete idiot. Matt definitely needs a reality check I give you that, but he must know deep down that he is unliked and that's a shame. The guy can sing but he's surrounded by people who have no managment credibilty and use hiim.
Matt needs to take note he is not a global superstar anymore and his song writing skills are awful. The songs he releases sound dated.

I think he needs to take a look at successful band reunions like, Take That, Ndubz, Boyzone and spice girls all these bands have sold out concerts and some of the band members have achieved successful solo carreers. ReplyDeleteJust read this article so bloody accurate, Matt Goss lives in fantasy world and suffers from what I call the walter mitty symdrome, where he believe his achievements are more successful than they actually are. I've followed Matt Goss career from day one and his recent claims in his recent interview in the times are not truthful nor factual.
ReplyDeleteMatt Goss is coming across as someone who is suffering from can only be classed a mental disorder that he now believes his own lies are facts. This is way is talks about past band achievements being his own, how much money he got and what designer clothes, cars and accessories he can claim to buy. The fact are his early carreer was on the knowledge and talents of Tom Watkin's and Nicky Graham. How he boast about spending £100,000 on video that only seen 53,000 views which if these views were converted into actualy pounds he would of made £47,000 loss in the video investment. The cars he claim to own are all leased and his home in US in rented. His vegas show were in rooms that had capicity to hold just over 150 people with his recent US manager claiming that Matt stormed out of shows, never turned up and some of his show not even selling out.
Matt suffers from low self esteem and craves the attention from his dwindling fan base and this is another sign that he may suffer from a mental disorder, in his attempt to come across and popular he buys fake likes and fake followers on his Facebook, Instagram and Youtube pages to try and give the impression he more popular than he actually is and to some exstent build up his low self esteem. For example on his facebook page he has around 123k followers and his youtube page has over 320k follwers, yet his recent album release only sold 8k copies worldwide. Matt recent 3 shows failed to sell out and sold just over 1,200 tickets out of nearly 5000 tickets being availabale for sale.
The public are not stupid.
As a fan of Matt Goss, I have started to unfollow him as his all he does is talk about himself and how much money he spends on videos etc. I know lot's of fans have started to drift away from him as they feel he to evolved with him self and the crap that come out of his mouth about so successful with his music. They are also getting bored when he talks about working with award winning artist like this babyface. Matt carreer I've followed for a long time and been to couple of his shows and I have to say the shows have always been terriable in production. The recent london show was i went to as my mate bought us a ticket. The show was bland and sound quality was dreadful. I worry for Matt as he believe he talented artist but he not anymore and most fans no this apart from the ones who just support for sake of supporting. I didn't by his latest album because it sound a like rehash of previous songs like saved. Matt in most fans opinion Matt destroyed Bros and his relationship with his brother Luke and bandmate Craig Logan. Matt needs to accept his needs Bros and Luke and he needs to address his mental state of mind. Only then will he be taken seriously as an artist. The music he released over 3 decades has been poor quality and his song writing crap. He needs to ditch Rob and Michael from his management employ true professionals loose the arrogance and Matt then may attract a new following. We all know as fans that Matt been buying like and followers but with that being said this as not increase any new interest in him or his music so its just false promotion.

ReplyDeleteI used to love Matt but over the years his money oriented and over hype persona has really put me of him. The bros documentry really brought to life what a selfish cunt he was to Luke and that he put his own needs before his brother. Since then I know loads of fans stopped supporting him. I purchased his last album not that the album any good but out some sort of loyalty to the bros days. To be fair the Beautiful Unknown is a terrible album and no where as a good as The Key. The signing event was rubbish and embarrassing as he begged us to buy multiple copies

It got even worse when Matt employed Michael Licata as he is another unprofessional human being. Matt shows don't sell out anymore because fans hate Rob and Michael and the pair can't organise anything.

His 5 albums releases unfortunately have never cut the mustard and failed to have any long standing chart success either here in the United Kingdom or worldwide. Matt is just not well liked and thats because he never tells the truth about his achievement, 99% 0f his success was with Bros and his band mates.

Logan, sadly 30 years later his music horrendous and out of atyle compared to other successful artists of today music scenes. His recently unsold out shows were dismissal. The fact he cant handle being so unsuccessful is very sad. We've known for years he has been buying fake likes and followers it's well-known through out the bros community. He sadly passed his prime, he cant write music and his performance of late are boring to say the least.

ReplyDeleteI contacted 30 Radio stations over the past the week and not one would play his music. 27 stated Matt's music doesn't fit there listeners base. Even smooth radio wont play his music. Matt just not liked and that's sad. He can't even sell out small shows and this is coming from devoted fan.

Most of his album are mish mash reworks of old songs. For example Early Side of later is actually a rework of Face The Wind. His shows are dull and he doesn't have the talent or personality to excite a crowd. He best going back to Bros.

Matt Goss is from a by gone era, 3 minures of fame. He can't write music, he never had smash hit single, His albums barely sell. He tried so many times to reinvente himself and have a comeback single and album, yet in 30 years he had 1 top ten 10 album that sold less than 8000 copies and fell out of the chart after 1 week. In the 1997 he was in Cob*ra and released the One album, the album didnt chart anywhere in the world accept Italy. Matt continues to buys fake likes and followers to give the impression that he liked. Yet Matt is Lying again and been found out with his lies, That example to 52,221 views to 844 likes seems about right for Marti. But Matt's 1.1 Million Views To 955 Likes is wayyyyyyyyyy unbalanced. Between Matts song and Marti's they nearly have the same likes yet the unbalanced views is astronomical ratio. It is so obvious Matt is paying for stuff to make him look better than he is. And for Matt to say his Hair is real on the live video is laughable, Just another to see how much he is a fake liar. If he was just honest people would not mind. I can't tell you how bad his run of recent shows were, I went to the album pre- launch at The Bloomsbury Ballroom, then the album launch show at HMV empire, then London Palladium show and they were all all rubbish. His management always put on crap shows. Matt completely lives in Cuckooland like his 100 or so deluded numb skull woman fans. These woman are in their 50's and at like school kids. Yes I followed bros from the start and Matt carreer, yes I'm a woman, but for god sake Matt lost it. When he interviewed he talks shit and makes things up, as a fan he turning into a complete nutjob. We know he buys followers on is social media I was told this by a person very close to him. He laughing stock around the world. It was aweful to see him and luke on the brits a few years back no one new who his was or bros.

The album also one of Amazon worst performing album of 2022 ranked 27,834 showing that the music buyer are not buying your music. Your shows fail to sell out even in small capacity venue showing that even your fans don't want to see you perform.

ReplyDeleteMe and my friend were in London for her 21st birthday, we were offered free tickets for the show but we declined them as we never hear of Matt Goss nor his music. After we did an internet search and went on you Tube to read and hear about this artist. Gotta say we were not impressed his song were aweful and we watched a couple of interviews what a douch bag. So glad we didn't accept them tickets after reading some of these comments. #LOOSER.

Everytime he brings out new music, They go all giddy on how great it is, and say things like " This is the best MG music ever ". And when you hear Matt saying that it is his best music ever written on the new album, Well that comes across as big headed and self righteous. I think the fact that away from the same old fans buying anything MG, His music is just not to the rest of the publics interest. His selling figures prove this.
