From boyband to Icon Mark Owen releases new single Magic

From boyband to Icon  Mark Owen  releases new single Magic

Editor Katie Watkin's 10/8/22

Take That heartthrob Mark Owen has today released his brand new single, Magic, and what a track this is.  The track, was introduced by Mark live on air on the Zoe Ball show this morning for an exclusive first play, is the third offering from his forthcoming album and first solo record in over nine years.

Magic is track that guarantees to bring euphoric summer feels to listeners, as Mark’s  northern soulful vocals blended with the track’s catchy beat makes this a slinky, falsetto’d, disco-funk hip-shaker in which Mark channels his inner so what Bee Gee vibe.

The global icon has been speaking on his evolution as an artist, Mark explained: “I’ve really been trying to capture lots of different energies from all the shows I’ve seen.

“I moved to LA with the intention of making a record out here,” he says. “LA was a whole new world for me.  It was about trying to find my way in a place I’d never been before, working in studios that I’d never been in before, with people that I’d never worked with before.

“I realised I’ve been doing music now for 30 years or so, and I just wanted to have a new experience where almost I had to start again. So I’ve made songs that I want to see live. There’s a guitar solo in Magic that I’m dying to perform because I want to hear how that guitar solo sounds on stage!”

Fresh from a storming live set at the Isle Of Wight Festival and Latitude Festival, and his appearance on The Late Late Show with James Cordon, Mark hits the road in October for his UK headline tour, with a string of dates encompassing Bristol, Glasgow, London and a sold out Manchester date. The Land of Dreams tour kicks off in Bristol on 16th October and tickets are on sale now from here. Mark will also perform at Radio 2’s Live In Leeds on 18th September.

Mark's solo return comes almost a decade after the release of his 2013 LP 'The Art of Doing Nothing'.  Meanwhile, Mark, bandmate Howard and former Take That star Robbie Williams will likely bump into each other at Radio 2 Live in Leeds next month

Land Of Dreams, will be released 23rd September.  Listen to Magic here and pre-order Land Of Dreams here.

Bananarama feud: Why did Bananarama break-up?

Bananarama feud:  Why did Bananarama break-up? Editor Katie Watkin's  27/10/2020  Pop Diva's Bananarama are a three-piece girl band who came together in 1979 while studying fashion in London.  While two of the members, Keren Woodward and Sara Dallin, were childhood friends, they met Irish musician and third member Siobhan Fahey as students.  So what caused the trio  to have one of the messiest break-ups in pop history, and who was behind it ? Bananarama are known for their Iconic-hits like  Venus, Robert De Niro’s Waiting and Love in the First Degree, to name a few.   But the all three women were “difficult” to work with, according to their former producer, Peter Waterman, who described the artists as “punks”.   Waterman told The Sun: “I fought with them about everything. They saw themselves as punks who were not prepared to be manipulated by any man.   “If I dared to argue or if I didn’t see things the way they did, they ...

MATT GOSS MANAGERS MICHAEL LICATA AND ROB FERGUSON POSTED PATHEIC APOLOGY TO A FAN WHO THEY BOTH VICOUSLY ATTACKED ON SOCIAL MEDIA.

MATT GOSS MANAGERS MICHAEL LICATA  AND ROB FERGUSON POSTED   PATHEIC APOLOGY TO A FAN WHO THEY BOTH VICOUSLY ATTACKED ON SOCIAL MEDIA. Editor Katie Watkins 11-11-2021 Rob Ferguson and Michael Licata who both manage 80's Pop icon and Bros frontman Matt Goss have both been forced to give an apology for the disgusting abusive and vile behavior. The action of Michael Licata and Rob Ferguson (Lit Management / Transcend Music) both asked members of several Facebook groups to share their vile posts, which escalated to a vicious assault on a male fan reputation and threats to his life. The attacks were so bad the male fan had received threats from hundreds of fans in which numerous fans were investigated by the police. The male fan graciously accepted the pathetic apology, which when read was more about Rob and Michael than a sincere apology.  The fan told us that the online trolling and the horrendous behavior by some middle-aged woman who posted vile comments on Facebook w...

Matt Goss Beautiful Unknown London Show Fails To Sell Out

Matt Goss Beautiful Unknown London Show Fails To Sell Out Editor Katie Watkin's 24/4/22 Matt Goss once again failed to generate any interest from fans for his one show London Palladium performance. Matt announced on social media, that he would be performing at the London Palladium on the 23rd of April. Ticket sales have been so low the singer had to reduce ticket prices in the attempt to fill the 2000 space capacity theater, with online giant Ticketmaster emailing fans and providing notifications about new seat allocation nearer to the stage.  This practice is normally done when a venue struggles to sell tickets. With Matt so desperate to try and fill the Palladium, he begged fans to buy up to 6 tickets each and gift them to family members and strangers.  His management team also took to social media begging fans to buy, with one fan Dee Murphy posting buy tickets it's less than a pedicure. Tickets last week continued to struggle with some fans once again purchasi...
