Country Pop Princess Taylor Swift as top the UK official charts for the 8th time with her rework of RED (Taylors Version ) sold over 72,000 copies in the first 7 days of release finishing ahead of two massive  ABBA’s Voyage (2) and Ed Sheeran’s Equals (3), overtaking Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour to claim the biggest week for a female artist this year.
Swift also beat girl group Little Mix who enter the UK charts at number 4. 

The rework of the album RED also beat the previous opening week sales of the original Red album, which debuted at Number 1 in November 2012 with 62,000 sales.


The Country Princess now matches that of Pop Princess Kylie Minogue  for solo artists with eight Official UK Number 1 albums - the only female artist to have more is Madonna with 12. Taylor is also the first and only female artist to have eight UK Number 1 albums this century.


The album has topped the Irish and Scottish official charts.

The Success of the album has continued in the USA , where the album in the first first five days of release, the album has already logged the second-largest week sales  for any album in 2021 in the USA, selling 500,000 copies  and the biggest sales week of the year for any album. Plus, she’s broken – yet again – the record for the largest sales week for a vinyl album in the modern era. charts.

Editor Katie Watkin's 6/5/2022  Pop idol winner and singer Will Young has finally spoken out about his twin brother Rupert's suicide ahead of a new documentary to aired on channel 4.  Rupert Young, was 41,when he tragically died after falling from Westminster Bridge in London on 2nd of August 2020. Editor Katie Watkins 10-2-2022 Fleetwood Mac released Rumours forty-five years ago this month, an album that combined some what gauzy soft pop, manicured folk and stormy rock with a soap-operatic level of intra-band strife.  Rumours won album of the year at the U.S. Grammys,  achieved 20 times platinum status in the US alone.
