ABBA Achieves Highest-Charting Album Ever on the UK  official chart and Billboard 200  With Debut of 'Voyage'

Swedish supergroup ABBA made a triumphant return to the UK music charts on Friday, going straight to no. 1 with their first album in 40 years, "Voyage". The album was the fastest-selling album of the year so far, with UK's Official Charts Company reporting 7days sales over  204,000.  


The album also hit the number spot on the UK official Vinyl chart selling a staggering 29,900 copies of the record on vinyl meaning ‘Voyage’ has overtaken Arctic Monkey’s 2018 record Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino as the fastest-selling vinyl of the century, which shifted 24,500 units during its first Week.

 ABBA  also top the Irish, and Scottish album charts. Their success has also spread to the US where there album  has just  earn the group their highest charting position ever on the Billboard 200, and first top 10, as Voyage debuts at No. 2.

Until this week, ABBA’s highest-charting album on the Billboard 200 was 1978’s The Album, which peaked at No. 14 on the July 22, 1978-dated chart. The Album contains the hit single “Take a Chance on Me,” which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 Songs chart. The Album was the follow-up to Arrival, which peaked at No. 20 and includes the act’s lone No. 1 Hot 100 hit, “Dancing Queen.
