The Official biggest vinyl albums and singles of 2022 so far

As vinyl albums and single continue to raise we look at the biggest sellers of 2022 so far.

Yard Act claim the biggest vinyl album of 2022 so far with debut album The Overload.

It tops the Official Charts Company’s end-of-quarter Official Vinyl Chart with ease, selling over

11,000 copies since its initial release in February

Not far behind in second place are 80s icons Tears For Fears with The Tipping Point, their first new album of original material in over 17 years, which also reached Number 2 on the Official Albums Chart.

Black Country New Road achieved their highest-ever UK chart placement with Ants From up There earlier this year, and the experimental rock group bring home the third biggest vinyl album on today’s newly unveiled list.

Other chart-topping new releases also making the chart include The Wombats’ Fix Not The World (5), Charli XCX’s first UK Number 1 LP Crash (6), Rex Orange County with Who Cares (7) and Don Broco’s Amazing Things (8) with Bonobo Fragments at (9)

Frank Turner (10) with his ninth album FTHC.

Matt Goss Beautiful Unknown London Show Fails To Sell Out Editor Katie Watkin's 24/4/22 Matt Goss once again failed to generate any interest from fans for his one show London Palladium performance. Matt announced on social media, that he would be performing at the London Palladium on the 23rd of April. Ticket sales have been so low the singer had to reduce ticket prices in the attempt to fill the 2000 space capacity theater, with online giant Ticketmaster emailing fans and providing notifications about new seat allocation nearer to the stage. This practice is normally done when a venue struggles to sell tickets. With Matt so desperate to try and fill the Palladium, he begged fans to buy up to 6 tickets each and gift them to family members and strangers. His management team also took to social media begging fans to buy, with one fan Dee Murphy posting buy tickets it's less than a pedicure. The action of Michael Licata and Rob Ferguson (Lit Management / Transcend Music) both asked members of several Facebook groups to share their vile posts, which escalated to a vicious assault on a male fan reputation and threats to his life.
